THT Announces #WhyILikeTrenton Photo Winners
Trenton, NJ — Trenton Health Team today announced the #WhyILikeTrenton 2021 photo contest winners, images capturing a holiday celebration, beautiful view, creative perspective and ironic urban commentary and shared on Instagram. See photo gallery
More than 30 photos were shared throughout the contest, which THT runs every April to showcase local talent and celebrate Trenton’s resilience and strong sense of community. This year, the contest was augmented with a Street Photography Tutorial video by Trenton photographer Habiyb Shu’Aib explaining photography basics and how to compose an interesting photo. Shu’Aib was a First Place winner in 2019.
Winners were selected by a panel of judges inlcuding Habiyb Shu’Aib @beloved1_, CEO of Fan Favorite Club and former pro basketball player La’Keisha Sutton @fanfavorite11, and mural/graffiti artist Leon Rainbow @aerosoleon. Giftcard prizes will be awarded to:
- First Place @tipwitdaclipz for a black and white photo of family members watching fireworks
- Second Place @driftchiko for a unique perspective on a war memorial
- Third Place (tie) @travelcyclist1 for a rainbow image of Trenton Makes bridge and @dumplingtastic for capturing a humorous sign with a serious message
- Most Likes to @driftchiko for a gorgeous sunrise over the Delaware River
First place and Most Likes winners receive gift cards and also may select a Trenton-based nonprofit, school, or faith-based organization to receive an additional $100 donation from THT. If the winner is under 18, then a parent/guardian will receive the prize on the winner’s behalf. Visit the THT website to view 2021 contest entries.
“Every year, we see new images sharing unique and creative perspectives,” said THT Executive Director Gregory Paulson. “Our community is full of talent — that’s one reason why I like Trenton!”
