Health Screenings

Trenton Health Team regularly provides free health screenings throughout Trenton, at key community locations such as senior housing, barber shops, and houses of worship.

THT staff, partnering with local organizations and nursing students, visit neighborhoods to check blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), and diabetes risk (A1c) and provide referrals for cancer screenings.

Additionally, THT staff survey residents about non-medical needs affecting health, such as access to healthy food, housing conditions, homelessness, and income insecurity. We then connect clients to services that can help meet those needs.

For residents without a primary care physician, health screenings provide information and referrals that can save lives, improve outcomes, and prevent serious conditions from developing.

This comprehensive approach is possible due to support from Novo Nordisk Foundation, Janssen Foundation, Bristol Myers Squibb Foundation, ScreenNJ and New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection program NJCEED.
