Ciclovia/Art All Day 2020

THT was proud to partner with local arts and community groups on Trenton’s Ciclovia, a downtown open streets festival featuring walking and biking tours, skateboarding, street painting and bike share.

THT provided bikes to borrow during Ciclovia thanks to a recent AARP Community Challenge grant and supported a “streetscape” creative crosswalk painting at S Broad Street and E Lafayette Street.

Special thanks to Artworks, the Trenton Downtown Association, Mercer County, Tri-State Transportation Campaign, and artists Liz Amaral and Jonathan Conner (aka Lank). See press release

BUILD Health Challenge Street Design

Trenton Health Team hosted a street design event for neighbors and volunteers painting vibrant graffiti-inspired art on Brunswick Avenue to help slow traffic and protect pedestrians at two busy intersections near Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School and Rivera Community Middle School. (See story in The Trentonian Aug. 11, 2019)

Designs were created by Trenton mural artist Leon Rainbow following a community design workshop at Lincoln Homes, hosted by THT and Street Plans, an internationally recognized urban planning, design and transportation planning firm.

Brunswick Avenue was selected for this project as part of a community effort supported by The BUILD Health Challenge, a national initiative funded by BUILD Health, to create a safe and healthy corridor from the Battle Monument Park to Capital Health Regional Medical Center.

Brunswick Avenue Day 2019

Trenton Health Team recently hosted Brunswick Avenue Day, a free family festival with food, music, and kids activities–including a 3-on-3 basketball tournament hosted by Trenton’s own Harlem Globetrotter La’Keisha Sutton.

The event is sponsored each year by THT and our BUILD partners, including Capital Health, St. Francis Medical Center, Trinity Health, Isles, Inc., Rutgers University Cooperative Extension, RPM Development Group, Henry J Austin Health Center and the City of Trenton.

Thank you to Frank Wojciechowski for capturing all the fun in his photos.
