Trenton Health Team awarded grant by The Nicholson Foundation to advance community health through advocacy and strategic planning
by Trenton Health Team (THT) was awarded $286,019 by The Nicholson Foundation last month to develop a strategic, communications, and advocacy plan that creates broad base support among Trenton residents for policies and projects that address social determinants and build a culture of health.
The grant provides support for four areas of organizational development to be designed and implemented over the next year: 1) articulating THT’s core purpose and strategy for achieving transformative change and sustainability, 2) developing and implementing a communication plan to increase awareness and engagement among residents and across sectors in the community, 3) facilitating ongoing learning throughout the community through THT’s Community Advisory Board (CAB), and 4) shaping and advancing a policy agenda for the community within the context of the national, state level, and local healthcare debate, and including a particular focus on the issue of oral healthcare in Trenton.

The grant allows THT to expand their staff to further meet the needs of the Trenton community, especially in advancing a policy agenda focused on population health.
