Mydia Alonso, 

Communications Manager

Mydia joined Trenton Health Team in June 2023. In this role, Mydia creates and shares digital content that coincides with our organization’s mission of making health equity a reality for all Trenton and Mercer County residents. She also manages our social media accounts, and oversees all marketing efforts of THT, as well as our programs and initiatives. 

Prior to joining THT, Mydia worked in Harrisburg and Philadelphia as a Morning News Producer, writing broadcast scripts and editing television segments together. She was grateful when presented with the opportunity to make the switch into nonprofit work, with a commitment to raising awareness on the importance of prioritizing public health, and elevating the voices of the people in our community.

Mydia is originally from Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. In her free time, she mostly likes to write, make playlists, design jewelry, spend time with her cats and watch movies. She graduated from Temple University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. She now works as a professor at Temple, teaching young aspiring journalists the basic foundations of multimedia content creation and how to take a more solutions-based approach to news storytelling.
