Trenton Health Team is proud to announce our partnership in a new Paid Leave Navigator Pilot Program, launching in Mercer County to help new and expecting parents understand and access state paid leave benefits.
This pilot, a collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development (NJDOL) and Children’s Home Society of New Jersey, will run through October 2026 and is rooted in our commitment to helping families in the greater Trenton area thrive.
We understand paid leave is a benefit that intimidates some. That’s why our Community Care team, made up of Community Health Workers and trained nurses, will step in to offer one-on-one, culturally grounded, and flexible support. Our team will take the time to help:
- Understand the benefit and how it works
- Estimate eligibility
- See if you are covered under job protection, which is separate
- Gather the required information to apply
- Provide guidance on talking to your healthcare provider
- Provide guidance on talking to your employer
- Complete the application
- Follow up if your application needs additional information
Any parent living in Mercer County with a growing family could participate in this pilot. Contact us if you are interested in learning more.
