THT Awarded GivingTuesday Grant for #WhyILikeTrenton
by Starling Fund supports bigger prizes, exhibit for photo contest promoting city pride
Trenton, NJ — Trenton Health Team today announced a grant from GivingTuesdayNow supporting bigger prizes and expanding exhibit plans for the #WhyILikeTrenton 2020 photo contest underway on Instagram through May 29.
The #WhyILikeTrenton photo contest invites original photos showcasing our community, our courage and our caring for one another. Thanks to support from GivingTuesday’s Starling Fund, First Place winners will now receive a $250 gift card, with a matching donation to a local nonprofit of their choice. Photos will be displayed at an upcoming First Friday exhibit and featured in a printed brochure acknowledging all participants.
“This year’s #WhyILikeTrenton contest celebrates Trenton’s resilience and strong sense of community–especially as we battle COVID-19,” said THT Executive Director Gregory Paulson. “We are grateful to the Starling Fund for enabling THT to provide larger prizes and expand plans for an exhibit later this year.”
#GivingTuesdayNow, celebrated May 5, is an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to encourage generosity and community engagement around the world. GivingTuesday also committed $200,000 to launch The Starling Fund, designed to support its existing community and country leaders. Trenton Health Team received $2,500 to cover expenses related to promotion of our contest, gift cards for the four contest winners and exhibit plans.
