Jessica Burnett,

Population Health Program Manager

Jessica joined THT in 2018 and now leads our implementation of NowPow, an online tool that helps caregivers address economic and social conditions affecting an individual’s health and well-being.

She also is project manager of our work with the Overdose Fatality Review Team in collaboration with Mercer County’s Department of Human Services / Office on Addiction Services (OAS). The mission of the OFRT is to analyze data relating to overdoses, identify regional trends, evaluate strategies to decrease opioid deaths, integrate public health infrastructure and substance abuse prevention, and ensure that participants’ response and prevention efforts are coordinated.

Prior to joining the Trenton Health Team, Jessica spent seven years working in HIV and STD prevention services. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ethiopia for two years. While in Ethiopia she completed three projects; an organized female empowerment program, received funding to build a medical waste incinerator and public restroom. After completing her service Jessica returned to her hometown, Trenton and began her career in HIV and STD prevention services. Jessica worked with the Hyacinth Foundation as a Health Educator and worked directly with women living with HIV and facilitated support groups. She continued her work in prevention with Henry J. Austin Health Center as an HIV Linkage to Care Coordinator and PrEP counselor. Jessica later joined the NJ Department of Health, Division of STD, HIV and TB Services as a Disease Intervention Specialist to combat the spread of Syphilis and HIV in New Jersey. Jessica is extremely excited to work with the Trenton Health Team to support their vision of a healthy Trenton.
