CDC Releases Strategies to Improve Recess in Schools

Mar 3, 2017 | News

In January 2017, the CDC released two booklets aimed at planning and improving recess in schools.  The two booklets, titled Strategies for Recess in Schools and Recess Planning in Schools, provide useful insight on how to incorporate and improve upon recess practices.  Keeping children active is important to the goals of Trenton Health Team, and through our Community Health Collaborative, we are working alongside many of our partners to increase activity as one element of a greater initiative to have children maintain a healthy weight and prevent or decrease the likelihood of children developing Type 2 diabetes.
